Spay & Neuter Services at Five Acres

Five Acres Animal Shelter is excited to begin offering low-cost spay and neuter services to owned cats and dogs, beginning in January of 2025.

About our services:

  • Surgery days will be once a week, on Tuesdays. 
  • Pets will need to be dropped off between 7-8am by their owner.
  • Post-surgery pickups will be between 2-3pm.
  • Payment for surgery will be due at the time of scheduling.

Spay & Neuter Fees:

  • Cat spay or neuter: $100
  • Dog spay/neuter (less than 50 lbs.): $175
  • Dog spay/neuter (more than 50lbs): $225

Additional add-on services:

Add-ons can be paid for at time of scheduling or the day of surgery. Add-ons must be in addition to a spay/neuter surgery, they cannot be scheduled alone.

  • Rabies vaccine: $20 (this is required if not vaccinated)
  • Distemper vaccine (cat or dog, DHPP or FVRCP): $15
  • Bordatella vaccine (dog only): $15
  • Microchip: $20
  • Heartworm Test: $20
  • FIV/FeLV Test: $25
  • Nail Trim: $10
  • Ear Cleaning: $10
  • Ear clean and pluck: $15
  • One-month flea/tick prevention application: $15
 

Scheduling Process:

  1. Fill out an application on our website here
  2. A member of our team will contact you to schedule your Tuesday appointment. As we begin these services, please expect to be booked out a few to several weeks, depending on demand.
  3. When our team member schedules you, payment is due to secure your appointment date.

2025 Fall Vaccine Clinic Dates:

  • Saturday, 9/20, 9am-11:30am at Academy of Pet Careers (3550 W Clay St, St Charles, MO 63301)
  • Saturday, 10/18, 9am-11:30am, City of St. Charles Animal Shelter (2835 West Randolph St, St Charles MO 63301)
  • Saturday, 11/15, 9am-11:30am (2835 West Randolph St, St Charles MO 63301)
Menu of services and fees:
  • Rabies vaccination (1-year): $20 per pet
  • Distemper vaccination: $15 per pet
  • Bordetella (kennel cough – dog only) vaccination: $15 per pet
  • Microchipping: $20 per pet
Event details, PLEASE READ:
  • This is a CASH ONLY service.
  • Services will be first-come, first-served from 9am-11:30am (or until supplies run out).
  • These events will take place outdoors, all people and pets will stay in their vehicles until it is their time to see the medical team.
  • Dogs should be on leash, and cats in a carrier.
  • Please expect a wait time of 30 minutes. We expect a fair turn-out, and will serve pets as quickly and safely as possible.
  • Please remain in your car with your pets until it is your turn to be served. Our volunteers will communicate the process with you upon arrival.
  • We appreciate your flexibility and patience as we provide this service to our community members.
  • Public restrooms will not be available to attendees.
